It all starts!!! very exciting.
The opening ceremonies were fantastic! I loved every minute of it. I was especially fond of the East Coast part of the program they did with all the fiddles and crazy excitement!
And then....having 'the great one' actually light the cauldron and get the games going?!! that was brilliant :)

Here is a pic of the lit Cauldron.

Let the games begin!

......more pics to come.....

One more day until the madness starts....

I took this photo down on Granville street. The city has a few blocks of the street that is closed off to traffic, and they have sculptures & art displayed. And they have huge cut outs you can get in to make it look like your an Olympic athlete, it is halarious.

I liked this piece especially. Im not sure why, but it was my fav.
Here's the pic.

2 Days to go!!!!!
Woohoo!

This city is so alive with excitement and people from all over the world, and the games haven't even officially started yet! It is going to be crazy!
This is a pic of the Olympic clock that was put in Vancouver awhile ago to count down to the games. It lives in front of the Art gallery, which is going to be the BC house for the pavilion.

GO CANADA GO!

Monday...blah.
Back to the gym for me. And on my way to my gym, I always pass this school.
There is colorful graffiti, thought I would take a pic of it.
Not sure if the kids did it or not. *shrug*

Didn't get a shot until late today, on my way home from work.

This is a shot of the city, I tried to blur it on purpose because I like the look of blurred lights/city lights. It didn't work out as to what I wanted. I hope to learn sometime how to take a better pic of 'night time' city.
I would like to make the lights look like a 'streaking' pattern. oh well, someday when I take my photography course perhaps!

Saturday. Day @ work....

It is funny what you can find to take a pic of when you are just out walking around....
I found these discarded, skeleton chairs out in the alley, by the building we are working in.
I like the look of how they were stacked.

Oh the simple things in life :)

Day off.
This is the little market just around the corner from my apt.
They always have lots of beautiful flowers & choices.

Feb 04

Went down to Granville Island Market today to see the new trolly/tram that was set up for the "olympic line". The trolly is on tracks and goes from Granville Island to the athlete's village & back. It is very nice and modern looking inside.
I believe the city is looking to keep this trolly going, and adding more stops and such.
And getting caught up in the spirit of it all, I cheated and got someone else to take a pic of me ;) and so I added it to my blog as well. hehe.

Just a random.

Old theatre in Kits.
Went for a walk before my work day. I have always liked this place, and it is still in use. It shows re-run movies and the rate is cheaper. Comfy movie chairs too.

Tuesday.
Another day commuting. There are different sites & sounds on my route, than Im used to seeing on my daily routine....which is a good thing I guess. change is good sometimes.

There are arty/painted up eagles all over the city. These always catch my eye. I enjoy looking at them :)

First day out to Burnaby for work...
Our office downtown is being rented out for the Olympics, and so the sales staff have to commute out to Burnaby for the month of Feb.
This is the first day of commuting for me....

Pic of the Skytrain.

Also...this is why I have been behind a few days in posting my daily pics.

Well,....another weekend spent working, so I only have a quick few mins to snap a pic of something interesting....
I went for a walk downtown around my work location, and there are always cool buildings & interesting things & people.
Today Science World was what caught my eye.
