Just work today...nothing exciting. and was too lazy to get out to take a photo.

This is a pic of my wall in my office. It is a huge beach picture and has been there since I brought it to PTP about 5 yrs ago. lol.

I thought it would be nice to see the beach everyday, even if you have to be inside.

This pic is not the best quality, but hints at what I wanted.

Met up with a an old buddy of mine today. Beth.

We met @ MEC, and so while I was waiting for her, I went upstairs to the parking lot on the roof to get a photo of another WINDY day.

As you can see the flags are flapping for all their worth, happy to have something to do Im sure, as that was what they were made for!

I also got a 2nd photo on this day because I have always liked the look of the building across from MEC. I think it is the flower that makes me smile.

Windy Windy.

Clouds have been blowing in & out for a couple days. The rain has been coming down sideways, and even some hail. weird.

The rain let up for a bit that enabled me to snap a quick shot.

Here is a pic of my Olympic coin collection.

Im not sure how many coins there were released for the 2010 winter games, or which sports actually make up the set....but I managed to get 6.

So to me, it is a set, just got the last one today :)

Went over to Tara's after work today.

We were up on her roof this evening waiting for 'Earth Hour'....we wanted to see if we would be able to notice any lights going out across the city. We especially had our eyes on the two ski hills you can see from her roof...but alas, nothing to be seen or noticed.

Only a nice tranquil sit out on the roof.

Another Grey day...

This photo is not very reflective of how I spent my day, or of me at all....which I think may be the point of the BLOG...however, I thought it was an ok shot on my walk today, so here is another random pic of Kits.

Caught two Canada Geese coming in for a landing to this pond in kits down by the waterfront, towards Granville Island.


They are pretty neat to get up close to, but not very friendly.


Im sure there are far better shots of these special birds....especially in Stanley Park.


But here is my shot for the day.

Back to normal life and normal work hours. ho hum boring.

This shot is me taking a moment to hang by myself, before going into work. This was @ the Library Square where many people sit and relax to have their lunch or sip a coffee. (which is strange because there are no tables or chairs, just steps to sit on, and it is slightly dirty and tons of birds. ha. whatever.

The last day for the excitement, and all I could manage to snap a shot of was the outdoor rink @ Robson Square.

Clearly no one on it, I assume it was melting because of our mild weather. lol.

Sad it is all over, the Paralympics is closing up tonight, and that's all she wrote. Fun 2010 games!

Random....

Didn't get much of a shot today with work and what not....so I got a late pic when I got home and went for a walk. It is a neighbourhood pub, fairly new. I like their sign, it is plain and kind of looks like the old bowling lanes.

More Pavilion hopping. Today was with my friend Wendy. We had planned to get in line and wait for the Ziptrek but it was a 5 hour wait, so we opted to mull about and take in some sights. The Ziptrek was set up so you could 'ZIP' across Robson St, and it was free, hence the long wait.

Happy St.Patty's Day.

Instead of drinking 'green beer' this year I was treated to some ALPINE drinking, with some friends. Yum. Rare treat out here, you can only buy it at this one pub, and that is ONLY if they have it in stock. We went to a maritime bar/pub called Atlantic Trap & Gill.

Fun times.

The mall enterance was still dressed as an Igloo. LOL.

Talk about putting out the wrong impression. Actaully it was almost kinda campy-style because Vancouver was soooo warm during the Olympics/paralympics.

Did some last minute pavilion hoping today...to get the one's I didn't see during the Olympics. A few pavilions were re-opend for the paralympics. Went to the BC one which was @ the Art museum.

It was cool. It looked like a rainforest sort of, with a canopy kind of thing. neat.

Also there was a plaque telling you a bit about the Spirit Bears in BC.

Thought I would snap this pic of young CB's @ the park. There were three in a row. (well a grouping)

Sometimes I like the small ones/or young ones.....you can get right up close to them and really see the actually blossoms.

Friday, my day off. Was out & about going to see some of the last of the open pavilions before the Paralympics is over.

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Kits, and they look so nice close to the water, but I was trying to get myself in the shot...so I missed the water.

This was the big day.
Everyone I knew was a bag of nerves all day....
Watched the game on pins & needles, and I think perhaps the game took a couple years off my life. BUT....very worth it!
Couldn't have been a better ending to a better story. it was almost as if is was movie-scripted. Awsome game awsome day. then......
on down to the madness....
The city exploded with pride, emotion, and joy!!! The best day ever :)

Great CDN Northern House.
very cool pavilion and enjoyed the experience inside.

This is a pic of the huge pile of "groceries" put together to give us the perception of what you may have to 'order' for your household groceries if you lived up in the North.
I thought it was a neat concept. I liked it. and very eye-opening.

Spent time with Tara & Julie, had lunch shopped had some laughs. (I think it was this friday, perhaps I have my fridays mixed up) anywho....

CDN women's hockey win GOLD!
woohoo!
Was watching the game with Joy down on the waterfront, which was cool because when Canada won a gold medal the rings set up in the harbor would turn GOLD! very fun. and the fog horn would sound the first few sounds of Oh Canada.

(Obviously it was growing dark very quickly)
